LESSON PLANS - The LET'S PLAY TODAY® training program provides a variety of lesson plans so YOU can decide which format is best for your needs. Maybe you need a game to use in your classroom each day, or maybe you need to run a weekly gym program, or you are looking for games with specific equipment - we got you covered!! 

 

 

TWENTY LESSON PLANS ALL CREATED FOR YOU - (best for kids ages 3-6)

  • Designed for a 45 minute class with more than 50 activities to do. Our lesson plans are broken into categories; songs, freeze activities, tag games, manipulative skills, gross motor development, and imaginative movements. These activities can be modified, altered and repeated over and over to create endless movement ideas!  Note: These lesson plans can be broken down into shorter times i.e. 25 minute classes if needed!

TWENTY SEVEN THEMED LESSON PLANS  - (best for kids ages 3-6) 

  • These lessons are designed to be around 30 minutes long.  There are more than 25 lesson plans all created for you and each one is based around a theme.  (You can modify these lessons to be longer or shorter!) 

  • Below are some of the themes for the younger aged lesson plans (geared for 6 and under):

Super Hero, Space, Sports, Jungle, Noodles, Pirates, Ocean, Winter, Dinosaurs, Nocturnal Animals, Fall, Migration, Forrest, Circles and Shapes, Earth Day, 4 Seasons, and more.

PARENT AND CHILD LESSON PLANS ( FOR 2-3 YRS OLD)  AND

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LESSON FOR ( 6 - 10 YRS OLD)

  • We have created easy to follow, age appropriate and kid tested lesson plans for these age groups as well. We include specific music, warm ups drills, and lessons geared just for these two age groups.   *This age range is offered in the lifetime access option in the store. 

VIDEO CLIPS

  • Each video is organized and listed under the specific equipment that is used.

 

  • Example: Parachute games, Bean Bag games, Tag Games, Freze Games,

       Hula-hoop Games, Ball Games, Songs, Imaginary Play, etc.

 

  • Each video will guide you through the activity from start to finish. 

 

  • The videos are 1 - 5 minutes long so it's easy and quick for you to

watch and play right away! 

 

  • Also included are separate videos that demonstrate our

       Super Cool Rules, warm up activities, and ways to end class.

  • You will be able to experience firsthand the structured, yet flexible,

       approach towards teaching children's physical movement programs.

 

  • The LPT® videos will show you how to get children moving and

        involved through easy directional cues and quick organizational techniques.

 

  • You will be able to review and practice the lesson in your own home 

        while watching each video with its corresponding outlined lesson plan.

MORE ABOUT OUR GAMES AND EQUIPMENT

  • Our program aims to support and help children develop physical literacy skills -- the confidence and ability needed to be physically active for life.  Children will develop fundamental movement skills that are crucial to everyday life, for playing sports and overall physical health and well being. 

  • Here is a basic list of motor skills that will be developed through our active games: proprioception (the ability and awareness to sense your body in space ... example: bending your knees, balancing on one foot, touching your nose, holding a plank position without actually looking at your limbs and what they are doing), balance (static and dynamic), coordination (hand-eye and bilateral - using both sides of the body together - crossing the midline such as touching your left hand to your right knee), agility and reaction (easily developed through tag games, strength, rhythm (through songs and creating patterns), gross motor skills (jumping, galloping, skipping, hopping, leaping, running, crawling) and manipulative skills (striking, kicking, hitting, etc.)

  • You will learn how to use various types of equipment such as the parachute, scarves, beanbags, hula-hoops, many different sized balls, balloons, giant pom-poms, pool noodles, paper plates, newspaper, rope, cones, agility ladders, and many other creative materials.

  • We offer age appropriate lessons and games.  EACH video will list what age it is designed for. For the younger ages, follow the unique active lessons, and you will learn how to turn a story into an energetic experience, which builds social, cognitive, and emotional skills.  Using stories engages the child into the activity, activates their imagination, increases participation, and elevates the FUN factor.    For the older group - jump right in to more advanced movements, cooperative play, and exercises that are designed to keep all kids moving and having fun.  

FOR KIDS 2 - 10

  • Most of our games can be modified for all ages!  Some are geared more for the older group (6 and up) and some are better for the preschool age (5 and under).  We notate which ones are best for which age group on each video.   

  • We also share modifications and variations to adapt the program for a variety of ages.
